Applications

(1) Mainly used for synthetic polyester fiber, resin, film, polyester paint and engineering plastics.
(2) Dimethyl terephthalate is mainly used to make polyester resins, which in turn make films and fibers, as well as high-strength polyester insulating paints.  Polyester film is mainly used as electrical insulation material and film production (such as film, X-ray film, photographic film and sound tape, video tape, computer tape, etc.).  The most common use of polyester resins is in the manufacture of fibers, used in fabrics, fishing nets, carpets, tyre cord and so on.  It can also be used to produce plasticizer dioctyl terephthalate.
